What's in a Meal: Spaghetti

Ever wonder what kind of food is actually served through Meals-on-Wheels?

Meals-on-Wheels volunteers deliver nutritious (and tasty) meals to more than 550 homebound seniors and senior centers every day.

Here is a sample of what our seniors ate last month:

- Spaghetti and ground beef in red sauce
- Garlic bread
- Brussel Sprouts
- Green Salad with Thousand Island dressing
- Banana
- Low-fat milk
and
- Brownie for dessert

To meet national daily nutritional guidelines, every meal contains the necessary fibers, proteins and nutrients to fulfill 1/3 of a regular daily diet. All meals are low-salt, low-fat and diabetic friendly.
