Shopping on Black Friday? Give to a senior in need through Angel Tree

Image found here.

If you are a Black Friday shopper or if you wait for Cyber Monday, you can have your Christmas shopping make a difference this year.

Many of our seniors need more than just a hot meal. Some cannot afford the basic essentials like clothing, toiletries and more. You can help them through Angel Tree.

While you are strengthening your credit card swiping muscles, stop by one of the Angel Tree locations throughout Utah County for a name of a senior in need. Under the Sub for Santa umbrella, Angel Tree allows volunteers select the name, age and gift ideas from a tree. Once the gift is purchased, return the gift to the Angel Tree location and other volunteers will drop off the gifts.

Can't help purchase the gift? Volunteers are needed to deliver gifts that have been donated. Dial 2-1-1 or visit www.unitedwayuc.org for more information.

  1. Volunteers are also needed to help staff the Angel Tree at the University Mall. Each shift is only a couple of hours, but it helps provide Christmas to an anticipated 6,000 kids, seniors and adults with disabilities! Dial 2-1-1 or visit the website listed for more information.-- Brenna with United Way of Utah County
